Accredited Buyer Representative
The Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. This coveted designation is awarded by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC), an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS®, to real estate practitioners who meet the specified educational and practical experience criteria.
In addition, REBAC provides many membership benefits to help your business grow and keep you up-to-date and networked, with new enhancements added each year. The overall goals of the ABR® Designation Course are to:
- Prepare real estate professionals to thoroughly represent buyer-clients in real estate transactions and provide the quality of service and degree of fidelity to buyers that sellers have customarily enjoyed.
- Offer ideas and methods for building a buyer representation business.
- Develop a self-customized tool for conducting a buyer counseling session.

Continuing Education & Code of Ethics
Topics for this year’s Continuing Education program speak to the challenges REALTORS® face today – while signs point to a recovery, the effects of the downturn are still present. Today's issues involve:

e-PRO® Day 1 Course
Available for the first time in a classroom setting, the new e-PRO® gives you a roadmap to build your business and serve the hyper-connected consumers of today and tomorrow. Learn about the changing market and how to connect with consumers, manage your online reputation, generate leads and gain referrals by signing up for Day 1 of the certification course. Upon completion of Day 1, students must complete Day 2 online to earn the e-PRO® certification. e-PRO® is not just about technology - it's about how you can leverage your most powerful asset, your people-skills, into doing more business on the Internet.

Green
NAR's Green Designation is a real estate designation designed for residential real estate professionals looking to green their businesses and their lives.
Students who complete this course will understand how the issues of green and sustainability impact all facets of real estate--from smart growth, new urbanism, and community development to the factors that make a building or home green to today's generation of green clients and customers. In order to earn NAR's Green Designation, students must successfully complete the core course and one of three elective courses.
When you earn NAR's Green Designation, you'll gain:

Green Designation Residential Elective Course
NAR's Green Designation Residential Elective Course provides real estate professionals with knowledge and awareness of green building principles applied in residences so that they can guide buyer-clients in purchasing and retrofitting green homes as well as help sellers by listing and marketing green properties. The Course encourages the real estate professional to be an advocate for green principles in the design and use of homes and a positive force for creating sustainable communities.
- Respond to customer trends and preferences for green home features in new construction and remodeling/retrofitting of existing homes.
- Describe resource-efficient home systems, appliances, building methods, and materials.
- Explain the benefits of an energy audit and guide clients and customers in obtaining one.
- Assist clients and customers in evaluating the cost-benefit of green home features and actions.
- Discuss green home principles and actions and respond to consumer preferences for green home features in new construction and remodeling/retrofitting of existing homes.
- Guide clients and customers in evaluating the cost-benefit of remodeling/retrofitting green-home features.
- Take into account green-home features when developing a price-proposal/offer for a seller or buyer.
- Demonstrate the cost/benefit value of green-home features in marketing properties.
- Inform clients and customers of green housekeeping, gardening, and landscaping methods.
- Recognize sources of VOCs and toxins that impact indoor air quality and the environment.
- Guide clients in selecting energy-efficient appliances and disposing of old ones.
- Exemplify green principles in disposal of recyclable and unrecyclable items.
- Identify coalition partners in the community.
- Compile information on green resources and programs in the community.
- Develop a network of professionals who adhere to green principles (contractors, designers, builders, repair service providers, landscapers).

Real Estate Salesperson Licensing
This 40-hour course will prepare you for the Michigan Real Estate Salesperson's Examination. It features the most up-to-date, easy-to-read real estate training manual in the state. Topics include real estate laws and rules, real estate contracts, financing ownership, brokerage and real estate valuation.
Classes meet:
- Tuesday and Thursday from 6 pm - 10 pm for five weeks (10 days);
- Monday and Wednesday from 6 pm - 10 pm for five weeks (10 days); or
- Monday through Friday from 9 am - 5:30 pm for one week (5 days).
Troy classes are held at MiRealSource's location at 920 E. Long Lake Rd.
Clinton Twp. classes are held at ConCorde Inn at 44315 North Gratiot Avenue
